Duty of intervention

Statute and Mission:

Soleterre ONLUS is a non-profit humanitarian association working both in Italy and abroad to ensure that people's inviolable rights are upheld. Using its own staff, it provides health and education services and food, mainly to children and women in conditions of desperate poverty.

O.N.L.U.S. Socially useful non-profit organisation

As defined in Italian D.L. n. 460 of 4 December 1997, authorised by the Region of Lombardy for activities of International Cooperation, as per regional resolution n. 7/20924 of 16 February 2005, in accordance with regional law n. 20/89.

Duty of intervention

Established in Milan on 28 October 2002, the association seeks to promote a culture of peace and the duty to intervene in order to uphold human rights, so as to allow every single person to live their lives in the best conditions possible. It works mainly in countries that are a source of strong migration towards Italy, with long-term projects aimed at social development and co-development, collaborating with immigrant communities in Italy. Thus the association's aim is to promote social and economic justice, and to combat and eradicate the social, cultural, political and economic dynamics that create and fuel discrimination, exclusion and exploitation.

Soleterre currently has projects underway in the following countries: Ivory Coast,
El Salvador, the Philippines, Morocco, India, Italy, Sierra Leone and the Ukraine.

Non-profit

The association is completely non-profit, and intervenes by developing cooperative projects in Italy and abroad and organising information, communication and fund-raising campaigns.
